Mary Tesh Glarum practices general business litigation. Her focus is on employment and health care law, and she is the chairperson of the firm’s employment law practice. Mary has extensive experience in labor and employment matters. Her practice includes individual discrimination and wrongful termination claims, both in court and in administrative proceedings.

Mary has conducted successful trials in the California federal and state courts, and she has argued appellate matters for her clients before the California Courts of Appeal. Mary also regularly advises businesses and nonprofit organizations on traditional “nuts and bolts” human resources issues, including contracts, severance agreements, employee discipline and terminations. She routinely drafts and audits company policies and handbooks. She also leads internal investigations and conducts preventive training sessions on harassment and other employment topics.

In the health care arena, Mary represents a broad range of health care clients, including medical groups, hospitals, independent practice associations, health care systems and physicians. She has a deep understanding of the managed health care system in California and the legal challenges faced by both providers and payors. She has handled numerous reimbursement disputes for health care clients and has secured favorable rulings in court and arbitration.

Mary’s pragmatic approach to these disputes has also resulted in highly favorable settlements in the early stages of litigation.

Mary earned a B.A. from Vassar College and is a graduate of the UCLA School of Law. Prior to joining Doll Amir & Eley, LLP, she practiced law at Latham & Watkins, LLP and at Blanc Williams Johnston & Kronstadt (later acquired by Arnold & Porter LLP). Mary is a member of the California Society for Healthcare Attorneys and of the State Bar of California, Employment Law Section.
