Elaine Jin is an associate at Doll Amir & Eley, where she represents clients in complex commercial, financial services, and consumer defense litigation.

She is a strategic litigator who thrives on solving complex and novel problems efficiently and decisively. Adept at cutting through legal and factual complexity to identify the issues that matter most, she allows clients to focus their resources where they will have the greatest impact. Elaine believes the best litigation strategy is one that advances the client’s broader objectives—not simply the legal position—and she approaches every matter with that philosophy in mind. Whether guiding a case toward an early, cost-effective resolution or aggressively litigating through trial, she is committed to providing practical, business-oriented counsel and delivering results that serve her clients’ long-term interests.

Before joining the firm, Elaine worked with an Intellectual Property Litigation practice at an Am Law 50 firm. Her understanding of technical details across electrical, computer, biomedical, and mechanical engineering subject matters allowed her to contribute strategically across a broad range of high-stakes disputes involving patent, trade secret, trademark, and breach of contract claims in both state and federal courts. Her experience spans all phases of litigation, including case development, discovery, motion practice, expert preparation, trial, post-trial proceedings, and appeals. Her notable work includes being a core member on a trial team that successfully defended a multimillion dollar Section 337 investigation before the U.S. International Trade Commission, and securing victories in inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. She has also defended clients before the Northern District of California, Eastern District of Texas, Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, and District of Delaware.

Prior to practicing law, Elaine worked in patent prosecution, where she managed international patent portfolios for leading life sciences companies and supported domestic and international patent prosecution matters. She also worked as a design patent engineer, assisting clients with U.S. design patent filings and global intellectual property strategy.

Elaine earned her J.D., cum laude, from Santa Clara University School of Law, and she earned her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University.
