Amy Messigian has worked as a management-side employment lawyer for nearly 20 years. Prior to joining Doll Amir, she was responsible for all employee relations matters for the NFL’s West Coast operations. She was also responsible for developing and overseeing the NFL’s COVID-19 policy for its employees. In her private practice, Amy provides strategic counsel in all aspects of California and federal employment law.

In her counsel to employers and management, Amy advises on their full range of concerns, from disability and religious accommodation, to medical leaves of absence, parental leave and paid sick time. Additionally, she addresses wage and hour compliance, workplace privacy, workplace investigations and background checks, arbitration agreements, restrictive covenants and severance, and all other issues pertaining to employee hiring, discipline and termination.

Amy provides consultation and review of employment policies and procedures and develops model documents for an employer’s use throughout the employee lifecycle. These documents include offer letters, arbitration agreements, retention letters, accommodation/leave forms, workplace investigation forms, separation agreements, and termination packets.

Another focus area for Amy is the development and implementation of training and workflow for HR professionals and business leaders in all areas of employment law. She is the go-to person for employers trying to navigate legal requirements, policy interpretation or personnel management.

Experienced in representing management in single and multi-plaintiff litigation, Amy defends clients in wage and hour, discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and accommodation claims, and in matters before the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, and other administrative agencies.

At the NFL, Amy was responsible for all West Coast workplace investigations, and she now advises clients on how to conduct a timely, fair and thorough investigation.
