Joseph A. Govea practices general business litigation, with a particular focus on employment, health care, and intellectual property law. He represents a variety of clients in high stakes litigation, including medical groups, hospitals, health care systems, and businesses ranging from mid-sized companies to large international corporations.
Mr. Govea graduated cum laude from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where he served as the Senior Notes Editor for the Science and Technology Law Journal and competed on behalf of UC Hastings’ nationally ranked moot court team. During law school, Mr. Govea won First Place and the Best Brief Award at the Cardozo Moot Court competition in New York, was a National Quarter-finalist at the Tulane Sports Law Invitational competition in New Orleans, and was a National Semi-finalist at the Chicago Bar Association competition. Mr. Govea also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Rafael Ongkeko for the Superior Court of Los Angeles County.
Prior to law school, Mr. Govea received a B.S. in Economics from Loyola Marymount University.
